Rheem has recently learned that the thermostat control panel on certain Performance Platinum Water Heaters can overheat under certain circumstances. Accordingly, Rheem is conducting a voluntary recall to repair Performance Platinum water heaters (model numbers XE40M12EC55U0, XE50M12EC55U0, XE50T12EC55U0, XE80T12EC55U0) that fall within the following serial number date ranges:
