Coronavirus (COVID-19) Impact On The Tampa Bay Area
All of us throughout the Greater Tampa Bay Area continue to feel the ever-increasing impact the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is having upon our community. Local businesses that have not been deemed essential have been forced to close their doors while many area residents are under a safer-at-home order and may either be out of work or working from home. Both this pandemic and the actions taken to prevent the spread of it have changed the way we all go about our daily lives, at least for the time being. Many local businesses are doing their best to curb the effects the virus is having upon our community as we ourselves also endeavor to do.
As a family owned and operated plumbing company located right here in Tampa, we here at Olin Plumbing understand the impact the coronavirus has had upon our area. Our 12 Step Tampa Plumber Safety Protocol
- CLEAN & DISENFECT
We're enhancing our sanitary standards by supplying additional disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer for our employees to utilize while on the job. Instructing all office and field personnel to disinfect items and surfaces they use regularly.
- SOCIAL DISTANCING
We're asking employees who can work remotely to do so. Necessary group meetings and mandatory training sessions are to be conducted remotely.
- HAND WASHING
Soap and water will be used to wash hands frequently. Our plumbers will use their own towels to dry their hands after each wash and will dispose of the towels properly.
- CLEAN UNIFORMS
Our plumbers are required to wear clean fresh uniforms daily.
- SHOE COVERS
Our plumbers will wear protective shoe covers inside the home or business where they are working. All shoe covers will be worn indoors only, and if the plumber needs to retrieve an item from the truck they will remove the shoe covers before stepping outside. Upon reentering the home or business they will put them back on. New shoe covers are worn on every job and disposed of at the end of each job.
- MASKS & GLOVES
Our plumbers are required to wear masks and gloves while on the job. They have also been advised not to touch their face or any other item that does not need to be touched.
- NO SHARING
Our plumbers will not share masks, gloves, tools, or cell phones. If an item must be used by more than one plumber, they are to clean the item thoroughly after each use.
- SUPPLIED ITEMS
Only items supplied by Olin Plumbing will be used on the job. Plumbers will not request the use of items belonging to the customer, this includes tools, supplies, materials, etc.
- CLEAN WORKSPACE
Our plumbers will clean any equipment, tools, and work areas thoroughly between every use. All equipment, tools, and materials will be placed on the floor and will not be placed on furnishings or countertops within your home or business. All equipment, tools, and materials will be placed on a drop cloth to further protect your home or business.
- PROPER DISPOSAL
All employees have been instructed to throw all tissues, cleaning wipes, and used protective equipment into proper garbage receptacles immediately after they finish using them.
- OPEN DOOR POLICY
Our plumbers have been instructed to leave all interior doors open throughout the work process to reduce the contact made with door handles. Exterior doors may also be left open if the customer approves of this and the weather permits.
- EMPLOYEE HEALTH PROTOCOL
All employees have been instructed to follow a strict health protocol. We encourage our employees to monitor themselves and to stay home if they don’t feel well. If any of our employees begin to show any CDC-published symptoms of COVID-19 or have come in contact with anyone who is showing symptoms, they are required to suspend all work activities and seek clearance from their doctor before returning to work.
